Created in 1995, 4i2i Communications Ltd is a leading provider of video coding IP cores, with a focus on MPEG2 and MPEG4/H.264. 4i2i licenses IP cores in VHDL and Verilog in both net list and source code form.
Headquartered in Scotland and with an office in San Jose, 4i2i's worldwide customer base includes major semiconductor companies and professional broadcast OEMs, as well as innovative start-ups. 4i2i provides off-the-shelf virtual components and packaged video solutions, where necessary working with the customer to ensure that all individual requirements are fully met.
Products currently available include MPEG2 4:2:2 profile at high level decoders and encoders, and MPEG4/H.264 high profile 4:2:2 encoders and decoders. 4i2i’s IP cores are very efficient and are optimized to offer the highest video quality at low bit rates in cost effective single FPGA implementations.
