As a fabless semiconductor supplier, Xilinx partners closely with leaders in the semiconductor device manufacturing industry. The fabless model allows our supply chain partners to focus on their core competencies, such as foundry services, packaging, assembly and test functions. We focus on rapidly designing and bringing advanced product architectures, software tools, and intellectual property to the market, while retaining access to the most advanced semiconductor process technologies available.

Success with the Fabless Model
Our fabless model works. Xilinx holds over 50% of the PLD market share, more than than all other public PLD companies combined. We have also been recognized by the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) as one of the “top ten semiconductor companies” in the industry every year since 2002.

Supplier Selection
Our partners provide the highest quality products and services. We continuously monitor their documented procedures to ensure conformance to requirements specified for our Approved Supplier List. Major requirements for supplier eligibility include:

• Evidence of an effective quality system.
• Conformance to international standards and/or certifications.
• Thorough qualification for each process, package, product, and service provided. Qualification plans are governed by internal specifications.
• Regular audits to continuously maintain their Approved Supplier eligibility and improve their processes.

Xilinx can revoke Approved Supplier status if subcontractors fail to meet specification requirements.
