General Description:
I am successfully using a 3.x MCS file to program a PROM on the HW-130; however, a 4.1i MCS file generates a page fault on hw130.exe.
Beginning with 4.1i PROMGen, MCS files have 32-bit addressing. Version 5.01 of the HW-130 software is the first version to support 32-bit-addressed MCS files (available as of January 2002). However, the 32-bit MCS standard has been in existence since 1988, and all other third-party programmers should support this format.
To use a previous version of the HW-130 software, you must have a 16-bit addressed MCS file, or use an EXO file. You can set the environment variable XIL_PROM_MCS16 to "Yes" to generate this file in the 4.1i tools.
