LogiCORE Generic Framing Procedure (GFP) v1.3 - Design Example does not fit in targeted device, MAP errors

General Description:

When I implement the GFP design example, the following MAP error occurs indicating that the design is too large for the targeted device:

"ERROR:Pack:18 - The design is too large for the given device and package.

Please check the Design Summary section to see which resource requirement for

your design exceeds the resources available in the device."

In the delivered GFP design example, all of the I/O ports of the GFP Core are routed to the I/O pads of the device. Specifically, the design requires a maximum of 376 I/Os and 9613 slices (depending on the selected configuration, refer to the GFP Product Specification for details). You must ensure that the selected target device has enough I/O and slices to place and route the example design.

In a user application, the GFP Core interfaces to other modules and user logic, and does not require most of the I/O signals to be routed to external pads. Consequently, the core can be targeted to any supported family of devices assuming there is enough logic and I/O resources.

To evaluate the functionality of the GFP Core with the provided design example, you must target a device with enough I/O and logic resources.
