How can I extend the Radix-2 implementation to support up larger Dividends?

In the LogiCORE IP Divider Generator, the limit is set at 32 bits. This may increase in future versions of the core.

If the requested dividend is larger than the supported dividend, then you can implement the following, to extend the bit width of theRadix-2implementation.
  • (X+Y)/Z = (X/Z) + (Y/Z)

This can be implemented using2 Radix-2 Dividercores,to split the dividend into most significant and least significant segments. Then shift theresults appropriately and add them together toobtain the results of the larger divide. This only works for the dividend, and not for the divisor.
