13.3 Schematic - Dragging net endpoint of I/O port onto another net causes Internal Error : Join Branches
I have added I/O ports to my schematic design and want to connect them to an existing net.
To do this, I select the endpoint of the wire connected to the I/O port, and drag and drop the endpoint on another wire.
As I do this, I see a pop-up dialog box that says, "Internal Error: Join Branches." Additionally,thenet whose end point was being dragged disappears, and "Undo" will not restore the wire.
This error will occur if:
- The net connected to the I/O port has only onesegment (No bendsand thewire was added all at the same time) and;
- The point where thenet endpointis dropped is in direct line with the existing net segment.
To work around this issue, a user can do one of the following:
- Use the "Add Wire" command to connect the two existing nets
- Drag and drop the net end point a short distance from the original location, and then drag and drop the endpoint in thedesired location on the other net.
This issue will be fixed in ISE Design Suite 14.1.
