Vivado - How can I increase (or change) the amount of memory used by the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) in the Vivado tool?

Description

I am trying to load a netlist into a new project and Vivado Design Suite is running out of memory.

Is there a way to tell the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to use more memory?

解决方案

To control the JVM memory usage, use the -jvm Xmx option.

For example:

Vivado -jvm Xmx2048m

Vivado -jvm Xmx4000m

The maximum available memory that can be allocated is dependent on your machine.

You can also run in -mode tcl to avoid loading the JVM (and GUI) altogether.
