Radio Over Ethernet Framer v2.0 - How can I generate a simulation example design that contains both the 10G/25G High Speed Ethernet Subsystem and the RoE Framer?

When I open the Radio Over Ethernet Framer IP example design in Vivado, I cannot see 10G/25G High Speed Ethernet Subsystem in the generated design.

How can I generate a simulation example showing the datapath between 10G/25G High Speed Ethernet Subsystem and Radio Over Ethernet Framer IP?

The example design that contains 10G/25G High Speed Ethernet Subsystem needs to be generated in IP Integrator with the Block Automation flow:

 

Step 1 - Create a Block Design (for example, design_1), and then add the Radio Over Ethernet Framer IP to the block design.

Step 2 - Run the first Block Automation. "Connect simple clocks for simulation" is greyed out at this time. The generated block design cannot be simulated.

Step 3 - Run the second Block Automation, and select "Connect simple clocks for simulation".

The clock stimulus will be added to the block design.

 


 

 

Step 4 - Create the HDL wrapper after the second Block Automation:

Step 5 - In the Hierarchy View, Set Design_1_Wrapper as the simulation top level.

Step 6 - Launch Simulation.

Step 7 - Force three signals to start the RoE Framer by adding the following commands in the Tcl console :

add_force {/design_1_wrapper/design_1_i/datapath/framer_datapath/roe_framer_0/inst/roe_framer_top_i/fram_disable} -radix hex {0 0ns}
add_force {/design_1_wrapper/gpio_cdc_dipstatus} -radix hex {00000000 0ns}
add_force {/design_1_wrapper/design_1_i/ext_reset_in_1} -radix hex {1 0ns}
run 20us

Step 8 - Allow the simulation to run for 10us and force another reset:

add_force {/design_1_wrapper/design_1_i/ext_reset_in_1} -radix hex {0 0ns} -cancel_after 40
run all

Now the simulation can demonstrate the behavior between the 10G/25G High Speed Ethernet Subsystem and the Radio Over Ethernet Framer IP.
