HydraQAM

Calian, Advanced Technologies (formerly SED Systems) HydraQAM is a 128 channel, high density 10GigE or PCIe QAM modulator card offering a path to CCAP, DOCSIS 3.1 and DVB-C2. Our design is a small form factor PCIe card, ready to fit in many existing products using PCIe or a 10GigE data input with 10/100 management. HydraQAM is FPGA based using advanced DSP algorithms to enable wideband RF signals that fills the entire HFC cable spectrum. QAM channels have individual channel gain and frequency agility. The modulator card supports up to 128 North American J.83 Annex B QAM or 96 European J.83 Annex A (DVB-C) QAM channels. HydraQAM has DOCSIS DRFI RF performance. And most compelling, the platform is based on a flexible FPGA architecture that can also support newer standards like DOCSIS 3.1 and DVB-C2 through firmware upgrades. In addition, HydraQAM can support NTSC or PAL analog video modulation at RF. Our modulator design is scalable to higher channel counts to meet CCAP specifications. It is also scalable to lower channel densities offering the ultimate in individual channel frequency agility.
